Loctite 518 is a single-component, medium-strength, anaerobic semi-flexible sealing product that cures in the gap between two solid metal surfaces. Typical applications include sealing machined joints between solid metal surfaces or flanges. It protects against corrosion. Loctite 518 exhibits resistance to low pressure immediately after flange assembly. Typical use as a gasket formed in place on solid flange joints, such as in gearboxes, engine housings, etc. Its thixotropic nature prevents it from dripping from the application site. Excellent resistance to oils, water, glycols, and most fluids used in automobiles.
