The adhesive cures in the gap between two metal surfaces without access to air. After application and curing, it secures the assembly against unwanted loosening. Additionally, Loctite 640 is highly resistant to vibrations and shocks. Typical applications for Loctite 640 include securing wedges and pins, fitted cylindrical components, bearings, sleeves, bushings, and similar items.
